With your social media posts, timing really is everything

You spend tons of time and effort to craft as perfect a SEO and social media marketing strategy as you can. Your team or your professional firm has been carefully crafting engaging content in the overall effort to drive traffic to your site or your location. As important as it is to be constantly creating great and engaging content, it is just as important to post your content at times when it all will get the most exposure. So when, exactly, does the latest research say those times are?

  • Facebook, of course, needs to be one of your main targets with regard to your social media marketing. If you want your posts to be seen by as many Facebook users as possible, posting between Noon and 3 PM everyday will give you the maximum exposure there. Some research states that a broad swath of between 9 AM – 3 PM will be more than sufficient but it is that early afternoon three hour window that finds the most users on Facebook.
  • LinkedIn has gained popularity, as well as significant clout and credibility, in the last few years. It is, most assuredly, the platform you need to be posting on if you need to network with, and attract, working professionals at all levels. Because the audience is working professionals, the best time to post there is anywhere between 8 AM – 5 PM. However, Mondays everywhere tend to be hectic and you can be easily missed while Fridays tend to be an escape- early- for- the- weekend kind of a day. So, to get the maximum exposure here, try and post on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • If the majority of your social media marketing needs to focus on the female audience, then Pinterest is where you need to be. Around 80% of Pinterest’s user base and visitors are women of all ages. This platform gets a tad tricky as the best time to post is in the middle of the night. If you want to get the biggest bang you can out of Pinterest, you need to post your content between 2 AM – 4 AM.
  • With both Google Plus and Instagram, the best time to get your posts up are before the workday begins. These platforms are generally checked into before the beginning of the workday so be sure to note that. Also, don’t forget that your potential audience is everywhere so take time zones into consideration as you may want to post at different times of the day to account for that time difference.
