Want to be unstoppable? Here’s how…

When it comes to success, all that really matters is your definition of your success. The author and philosopher Ayn Rand seemed to see it best when she once remarked; “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me?” Those that have truly succeeded according to their own definitions all seemed to have certain traits, certain characteristics, that allowed them to achieve, allowed them to become unstoppable. So, what are those traits and characteristics?

  • They believe in themselves, they have a plan and they work the plan. The unstoppable are relentless with regard to self optimism and self confidence. Sure, they get anxious. Sure, they get fearful. But, in the end, they know they can do it and nothing is going to stop them from achieving their vision. They also know they will never get there without a plan and the intestinal fortitude to put that plan into action. Action, confidence and leaps of faith are what see them through to the end.

“The most difficult thing is the decision to act. The rest is just tenacity.”

—  Amelia Earhart

  • They know that there will be hurdles and roadblocks along the way to overcome. They foresee obstacles and simply adjust their plans to adapt to the new circumstances. They are flexible in their thoughts and actions. While flexible in thought, they remain persistent and dogged with regard to action.
  • Another major trait shared by most of those who appear unstoppable is that they are self aware to the point of being able to step outside of themselves and see themselves for how they are, warts and all. By doing so, they are no longer blind and can make those needed adjustments. This self awareness also leads to a certain balance. They know that they can’t be successful unless they take care of themselves with regard to food, exercise and sleep.

“Perfection is not attainable. But, if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”

—  Vince Lombadi

  • Jealously and egotism, for most of them, have no place in their plans. They surround themselves with achievers who will help them get to where they want to be. Where they are weak, they will take on someone who is strong there. Mental toughness rules their character and they are always learning and gaining knowledge that will help them to achieve their goals and visions of success. They are always reaching out and cultivating knowledge and connections because they know that they can’t do it alone.
