The most polished, interesting, and engaging web video means nothing if no one ever watches it. Video SEO works only if viewers find the material, so after posting a wonderfully made video, make sure your target audience finds it and that your message comes across by following these four points to connect with your client base.

1. Always Enable Interaction & Sharing
It would be very unwise to post a video that no one could share with their friends, as social media is a key part of gaining high rankings on Universal Search results. The more times your content is shared, the better you are to the search engines. Don’t even bother posting a video if you don’t use simple widgets and tools in a video player to let your viewers share via email, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and the like. Sharing and interactivity are always best practice for VSEO, so let users comment on your videos as well. The comments may add additional relevant on-page text to your site, which will assist with Universal Search indexing as well.

2. Use Social Media
Any company should be putting forth effort to have a strong presence on, at the very least, two or three of the major social media sites. These assets should be used to spread the word about your content and make the most of your VSEO campaign. Post video content to Facebook, notify your Twitter followers, and notify any special interest communities the company is part of.

3. Don’t Forget Email Marketing
Most companies already use email marketing to keep in touch with interested clients. With the growth of social media and the popularity of connecting through a website instead of direct email, some may overlook the importance of including video in email marketing campaigns. While VSEO is developing stronger Universal Search rankings, don’t overlook other forms of communication. When information is available in video, offer it everywhere, and that means in emails, too.

4. Include a Call to Action Every Time
Once the word has been spread, it is important to make sure to include a call to action so that potential customers become actual customers and your VSEO strategy product real concrete results. Be as creative as possible, and keep in mind your goal and what you are promoting. There are many options for a call to action, such as a contest or offering a discount. Offering a unique promotional code would allow the tracking of consumers in order to track and measure the effectiveness of your VSEO strategy from video to sale.
