posted on July 28, 2017

The whole idea of your SEO and social media marketing investment is to drive traffic and have that traffic stay on your site long enough to buy something. You may be driving some serious traffic but are your visitors leaving as soon as they get there? If they are, then something is amiss at your site. Why aren’t they staying and turning into conversions? What can you do about it?

  • The first thing you need to do is to see your site as your visitors see it. What are they there for and can they get to it quickly? Work your data to see what search terms and key words are coming up the most from your visitors. What pages and content is driving the traffic? Find out and optimize them to increase your traffic as well as your conversions. Get rid of what isn’t working. Through your data analysis, you can discover exactly what your visitors are expecting to see and do once they get there.
  • Offer your visitors some manner of incentive for staying at your site and buying. Offer discounts and special gifts right on the landing page and make it an attractive enough offer for them to sign up for your email blasts. Building an email base can be a huge marketing coup to keep customers and potential customers close and in the loop. Make sure your email lead magnet has value to them so that they will sign up. It can take anywhere from six to nine visits for a visitors to turn into a legitimate lead or buying customer.
  • Re-market yourself on your social media platforms. This allows you to target people that came to your site but didn’t buy or join your email list. When doing this, make sure they are directed to a special page that has been specifically designed to get them to sign up for your email notifications. After all of this has been done, you need to construct an effective email campaign that re-drives traffic and increases your conversions buy giving your visitors exactly what they are looking for exactly when they are looking for it.
