Running a competitive eommerce site these days can be a huge challenge. It can be even more daunting if you are trying to get your startup off and running. If you aren’t in front of your vision and your rivals, you will find yourself falling behind and, perhaps, unable to ever catch up. What you may need are some quick strategies to get you competitive right away.

  • As a newbie, the first thing you need to do is to make sure your website is properly designed and you establish a strong marketing program which includes an efficient webdesign, engaging content, and surround yourself with experts who can take you to the level you need to get to.

  • Take advantage of some affiliate marketing, engage with major influencers in your industry and decide how and where your social media presence is going to play out. Know who your customers are and know where they are. Social media is not for amateurs. Educate yourself on what it take to drive traffic and make those conversions.
  • In that light, make sure your due diligence includes market research on your customers and your products and services. In addition, have a solid user experience plan because more than half of all shopping carts are abandoned before the customer gets to the check out. Pay special attention to your online rep and surround yourself with people who are strong where you are weak.
